Start with an identification card such as a state driver license.
Take a picture of the identification card with a smart phone camera.
Download the image to your desktop computer.
Open the image in an image editor application such as MS Paint.
DO Redact the photo. (Cover with a solid, filled square or rectangle shape, adjust size as needed.)
DO Redact your id#(s), name and street address. (Cover same as for prior step.)
DO NOT Redact your gender, birth date, height (optional), weight (optional).
DO Take a screen capture of the modified image using a screen editing tool such as Snipping Tool app.
DO use the screen capture file of the redacted image and not the raw image itself, for sharing with a match.
DO be prepared to show your id to your match in a public location for verification.

Note: Many state identification cards have a security background pattern. If someone else presents a redacted image to you, you could inspect for disruptions in the security pattern due to information modification. If you suspect information modification then do not make further contact with the other person.
