How To Make A Video
For best results:
- Use a smart phone camera to capture a 15-second video. Here's how:
- Have an assistant, camera person, help capture the video of the subject.
- The subject should be 1-2 feet away from a plain wall or backdrop, facing the camera person assistant.
- The subject should look beyond (through) the camera so as not to narrow eye gaze at the lens.
- The subject's face should fill at least 75% of the width of the camera view. (Use the telephoto setting to achieve this.)
- The subject should not face a window or other light source, causing reflected images to appear in the eye pupil regions.
- In the first five seconds of the video, the subject stares ahead with facial muscles relaxed.
- In the second five seconds of the video, the subject should present a full, natural smile.
- In the last five seconds of the video, the subject may relax their lower face (no smile) and widen their eyes as much as possible.
- Here is a video that demonstrates these steps.
